The Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce conducted training sessions for Egypt’s National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) in collaboration with the U.S. Codex Office (USCO). The "Workshop on WTO SPS and Codex Principles and their Application in Egypt” was held May 16-19, 2022 and covered familiarization and scope of the WTO-SPS Agreement, along with functions of the SPS committee and relevant topics under discussion. UMD-JIFSAN provide training on risk analysis led by Dr. Clare Narrod introducing risk analysis and how it fits into WTO/food law as well as an introduction to risk analysis and its various subparts. Throughout the in-person sessions, over 60 participants worked through a set of exercises to aid them in the learning process.
